Type on a circle
This is one way of printing letterpress type in a circle. First of all, set the type (in this case fleurons) in a composing stick as normal, then put masking tape along the edge which will be on the inside. Find something the right diameter (I used the plastic cap from a postal tube, wound with paper till it was the correct size) then wrap the type around it. As the tape is on the inside the type will splay outwards while remaining in contact at the inner corners.
To allow you to lock it up in the forme, make a hollow square with furniture then place the circle of type in the middle and fill in the empty space with Plaster of Paris. This makes a square block which can be locked up quite firmly without distorting the circle, but it breaks off easily afterwards, leaving your type perfectly clean.

Type Set Drawer: The Finished Product!
I finished my type set drawer project and I am IN LOVE with it! Lots of little things fill it up with memories and inspiration – my own photos, favorites from Flickr, moo cards, stickers, buttons, googly eyes, and all sorts of other random stuff.
I decided to hang it in my dining room – it’s the perfect size for the wall and readily available for me to show it off.
